Happy Equal Pay Day!!! Sounds exciting, right? And yet, according to the American Association of University Women, American women earn about 23% less than males. If we actually achieved equal pay, this day would probably become somewhat more irrelevant.
So, what should we be doing about this? The most important rule to remember: don’t be afraid to ask for what you’re worth.
Also, be sure to check out this cool calculator—it’ll show you how much of a raise you should be asking for based on your current and goal salaries over the time span that you choose. If you are not sure about how to do so, here are some helpful tips to get you started.

I really like how Pete Hoekstra said equal pay was a nuisance. It’s almost as if having old men in charge of women’s equality might turn out badly somehow.
Haha, almost : ) You might find this article interesting as well…http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2012/04/11/462358/romney-lilly-ledbetter/?mobile=nc…Oh, and women should be ruling !!!
Well of course he has no idea what he believes. Not without polling the audience ahead of time.
I’m just searching for truth here, and I wonder if most of the reason is that women don’t seek higher paying jobs. I personally believe women are better than men (on average) in making this choice, being a lot less materialistic and valuing happiness in careers. This may be result in less pay, but is actually the wise and superior choice. Esp in a society like we have in the West today where we can easily meet our basic materialistic needs. Maybe (some, mostly women) should stop thinking women are downtroden by society and instead see the bigger picture, that most women are wiser and better off as a result of this? Food for thought I hope.
